Very strange NPC death animation in Red Dead Redemtion 2

I came across a very strange animation while watching one of the NPC battles. The character was twitching in some strange convulsions. The enemy AIs weren't paying attention to him, which meant he was dead to them. This is the first time I have seen such an unusual animation defect.
